HGTV's new digital series "Skills for Life" was a blast to shoot. There were race cars, mini-donkeys, and so much more cool stuff to learn about. Be sure to check it out on HGTV social platforms this spring.
And that's a wrap on Texas Cotton! Actually we wrapped last month, after 4 weeks of shooting near San Antonio, Texas. We shot in the city, in the fields, in abandoned houses, and in working courtrooms. And I got this cool custom timecode slate faceplate. Excited to have a real Texas noir on our hands. We'll be heading into post production shortly, keep an eye out later this year for feature film Texas Cotton, starring George Hardy (yes, that George Hardy, from Troll 2)
Argosy came over to Pool Party Studios and chatted about sound for film and sound design theory. Super interesting conversation. It was really fun to get to the heart of what the nebulous terms of "art" and "sound design" really mean. Take a look!
This week a super cool short that I sound designed and mixed- "The End of Decay" premiers at Fantastic Fest. Directed by fellow SCAD alum Christopher Todd , "The End of Decay" is sure to delight at the largest genre festival in the world. With it's Sci-Fi/Horror sensibilities, the film was a blast to sound design!
This week, I was delighted to sound design and mix Tracee Beebee's "Dog Years", a short that I had the pleasure of mixing on location as well. A well-written and well shot drama. Directed by Tyler Russell and composed by the talented David Levy, the film is a powerful drama. Keep an eye out for "Dog Years" at upcoming festivals!
